On October 27th, 2024, the world lost a radiant soul far too soon. Zoey Arizona Johnson, just 23 years old, was taken from us in a senseless tragedy caused by a reckless driver. Though her time here was brief, Zoey lived more fully and loved more deeply than most do in a lifetime. Her light was fierce, fearless, and unforgettable, she continues to shine through the countless lives she touched.
Zoey was a woman in motion, never stagnant, never afraid, and always chasing something bigger. She was on the edge of a beautiful new beginning with her partner and best friend, Tyler. The two were about to close on their first home, building a life together alongside their two cherished pups, Millie and Dottie. It was a milestone Zoey had dreamed of, and she was ready to plant roots with the love of her life.
To know Zoey was to know a spirit that couldn’t be contained. She had a wild, adventurous heart and a laugh that could fill a room. Whether tearing through desert trails on her dirt bike, carving across the lake on her stand-up jet ski, or finding a new mountain to conquer on her snowboard, Zoey never did anything halfway. She thrived in motion, adrenaline-fueled, sun-kissed, and smiling. Every day was an opportunity to explore something new, to push boundaries, to live out loud.
But her vibrancy extended far beyond adventure. Zoey had an extraordinary way of making people feel seen and loved. Her kindness wasn’t performative, it was woven into who she was. She was the first to show up, the last to give up, and the kind of friend who left you better than she found you.
Zoey lived with intention, never waiting for life to happen. She believed in chasing joy, taking risks, and holding tight to the people she loved. She taught us to embrace life unapologetically, to love with our whole hearts, and to find something extraordinary in even the simplest moments.
In her 23 years, Zoey created a legacy that will be carried on for generations. Her energy lives on in the trails she tore up, in the lakes she skied through, and in the hearts of those who now carry her memory forward. She taught us that a short life can still be an extraordinary one, and hers was just that.
Zoey is now reunited with her beloved mother, Tina, and we imagine the two of them together again, wild and free. Maybe she’s racing her dirt bike through the clouds and laughing like she always did.
Though she is no longer with us in the physical world, Zoey’s spirit is everywhere. In sunsets that burn a little brighter, in songs that feel like memories, and in the courage we find to live just a little bolder because of her.
We will carry her name. We will tell her story.
And we will never let her light go out.
